New Construction Interior Design
Finishes, lighting, cabinetry and flow planned alongside your builder, before anything is installed.
Interior Design · Fayetteville, Arkansas
Our studio is on North Steele. We know which streets flood, which houses have plaster worth saving, and which contractors turn up. That local knowledge shows up in the finished room.

Designing in Fayetteville
A 1930s bungalow off Wilson Park and a new build out toward Mount Comfort need almost opposite things. One needs its character protected while the plumbing and lighting quietly catch up. The other has good bones and no personality yet.
Most of what we do here falls into one of those two camps. Older homes near the square and the historic districts come with plaster, original trim and cramped, closed-off kitchens. The work is opening them up for how people live now without stripping out the reason you bought the house.
Then there is the terrain. Fayetteville is built on hills, which means split levels, walk-out basements and rooms that meet at odd angles. Furniture that worked in a flat subdivision simply does not sit right. Space planning matters more here than almost anywhere else in the region.
Services
Full-service interior design, scaled to the project. Some clients want every room resolved; others need one kitchen done properly. Both are welcome.
Finishes, lighting, cabinetry and flow planned alongside your builder, before anything is installed.
One design direction carried across every room, so the finished home reads as a single considered whole.
Cabinetry, counters, lighting and storage planned around how you actually cook and gather.
Tile, vanities, glass and fixtures resolved into a calm, hard-wearing everyday retreat.
Furniture, lighting, textiles and art, scaled correctly and styled to completion.
Procurement, delivery coordination and the final install that makes a house feel finished.
Why Elle & Ivy
Being local means we can walk a site the same week, meet your contractor on the floor, and catch a problem while it is still cheap to fix.
Knob-and-tube, uneven floors, plaster that must not be touched — we plan around what a period home actually gives us instead of fighting it.
Stephanie runs the project herself. You are not handed to a junior designer once the contract is signed.
Money goes to the surfaces you touch and the rooms you use, not spread evenly across everything until nothing feels special.
Our Process
We talk through your home, how you live in it, and what you want to change.
Together we set the rooms, priorities, selections and budget the project will cover.
Selections are documented and carried through, coordinated with your builder or contractor.
Furniture, lighting and finishing details are installed and styled to complete the home.
Portfolio
Real rooms from real projects, photographed as they were handed over. No staging tricks, no borrowed furniture.

Meet Your Designer
Owner & Principal Designer
Stephanie Bowen runs Elle & Ivy Interiors from the Fayetteville studio, and she is the person you work with — not a name on a website.
Her approach starts with a lot of questions. How do you use the dining room, honestly? Who actually cooks? What do you want to stop apologising for when people visit? The design follows from the answers.
She was named 2024–2025 Designer of the Year by the Interior Design Society of Arkansas, and her work has been featured in At Home in Arkansas.

FAQ
It depends entirely on scope — furnishing one room is a very different number from a whole-house remodel. We talk budget openly in the first conversation and shape the scope around what you want to spend, rather than presenting a figure at the end.
Regularly. Older Fayetteville homes are some of our favourite projects. We plan updates that modernise the systems and layout while protecting the original millwork, floors and proportions worth keeping.
Yes, and we prefer it when you already have someone you trust. We coordinate directly with your builder or contractor so the design decisions actually survive construction.
Earlier than most people think. Once cabinetry is ordered and electrical is roughed in, a lot of the good options are gone. Bringing us in during planning costs less than fixing things later.
Yes. Plenty of Fayetteville projects start as one kitchen or one primary suite. Some stay that way; others grow once you see the first room finished.
At 3537 N Steele Blvd, Suite 110-155 in Fayetteville. We meet by appointment so we can give you a proper block of time.
A furnishing project can be a few weeks. A whole-house remodel runs several months and depends heavily on your contractor and lead times. We give you a realistic timeline up front rather than an optimistic one.
